Why is everyone talking about promoting STEM in the Black community? And what can I do to get involved in this movement?

It is predicted that the U.S will need to add 1 million more science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) jobs by 2022. While the employment opportunities are predicted to explode, Black professionals are often the least likely racial group to enter the technology fields. And where Black professionals have successfully entered the field, many experience being one of only a few people of color on their teams. This panel of experts will discuss new and innovative ways that companies and nonprofit organizations are attacking the STEM problem in the Black community. How to recruit and retain Blacks in STEM and the benefits of pursuing a career in STEM.
